Non RFT voiding insurance
Has anyone heard of such a thing? I'm going to need new tyres after my next track day in January and was wondering what others heard.

I would have thought it doesn't matter what tyres are fitted as long as the dimensions are the same as the OEM fitment?

Provided that you've fitted a tyre size as specified on the placard, with the correct minimum speed/load rating, then my understanding is that it doesn't matter whether you've got runflats or regulars. But it's best to talk to your insurer Duncan. Different insurers have different policies wrt modifying from stock (NRMA springs to mind here).

I'm with Allianz via BMW so I'll call them on Monday. I was just concerned as I'm not going to risk my coverage.

I just told Suncorp that I have replaced my tyres with non runflats, they noted it on the policy and sent me a copy of the updated changes for my records.

It may be considered as a modification. As long as you notify the insurance, and they write them in black and white. Then it is ok.
As said above, the load rating is most crucial and if it is higher or equal to the RFT, then it is ok. I am about to order the car and order some RE11 for them. I will carry glue just in case.
