Juddering on initial acceleration. Clutch?
My car has developed a juddering sensation on initial 1st gear acceleration which is making it difficult to drive smoothly. It occurs around the bite point of the clutch. I start giving a little throttle to get the car moving and there is a judder/rough sensation like the clutch is not releasing properly. It's like the clutch bite point is not as progressive as it used to be. I can feel that it occurs through all the gears but is really noticeable in 1st with the clutch/throttle balancing.
Car has 21k kms on it with the original OEM clutch and just the CDV delete. No other mods. I've been driving manual cars since day one (20 years now) and have never had to replace a clutch so I'm not sure what i'm experiencing. I'm about to put it away for the winter so will book an appointment to have it warranty checked in the spring but thought i'd ask here as well. Any help is much appreciated. thanks! Amit

Not just a 1M problem - I experience this periodically with my 128 also. There seems to be no rhyme or reason; it seems like the clutch just gets a 'bad grab' or something - like a worn spot on a motor comes round once in a while. I'm not a particularly aggressive driver and don't drop the clutch/ride the clutch and there is no prior indication that this is going to happen. I usually push the pedal back in and try again, and it's always been fine.
Are you saying you've had the same issue and now it's progressed to more often? I've also been driving stick since 1974 and other than a seal leak in a 1964 Falcon I've never replaced a clutch either. I have the CDV delete and a clutch stop. I have heard other grumblings on here about this... not sure if there is a thread dedicated to it or not but I am having a deja vu.

Thanks for the responses. I haven't been so hard on the car for it to be the sub frame bushings but I may be wrong.
Dual mass flywheels sounds more fitting. What type of failure is this? Could it be from something i'm doing or just a defective part? I'll book an appt with service and will post back. cheers Amit
