Debadged....

So I finally did it, I went to the dark side. And I'm very happy with the new look.

Cost me 1.29 + 8% tax.

Sorry for the BW, I messed with the settings and didnt fix them.

Your car is dirty *pulls tounge*

Great. So have you debadged because you want other 330i owners to think you are a 325i owner? Or because you are secretly hoping someone will think you drive a 760Li
(***JUST KIDDING***)

It looks cool.

Funny story: When I got my first car (E46 Compact) my mother refused to let me get anything "faster" than a 318 - my father and I found an excellent deal on a 325ti - and so we bought it- took the badge off and told her it was a 318. :-) So you could say, I debadged my car so that someone would think it was less than it is.

I know, I know....shes filthy....

I went and rinced her off last night, then woke up this morning and there was an inch of now on her again....The worst part of the car is the lip behind the trunklid. Its just like a shelf asking for water spots.

At any rate, yes, I did it so people can think less of me. Because I want everyone to think Im really driving a 36k car than 46k...j/k

My roommates ran into the apartment yesterday yelling someone jacked my shit. I had to him

don't worry dude, you can't even recognize the color of my car anymore. i gave up on trying to keep the car clean in this weather anymore...

i wanna debadge my babe so badly but it's too damn cold out and people are saying you need to make it really hot for the glue to give in. did you use a blow drier? i can't even do that since i can't find a house that would have an outlet outside and let me use it too.

I've debaged alot of stuff before and blow drier can do wonders.
Simplest and easiest way to do it is, heat it up with blow drier, use some fish string and take 'em off.
The more you heat it up, easier to take the badges off.

I came outside when it was ~40 degrees outside. Took about 2 minutes to swipe the floss under the badge to get all 4 piecest off. I then headed over the the self car wash place where I spent about 5 minues pulling off the double sided tape. After it was all off, I washed the car. I grabbed the microfiber cloth from my car and wiped sideways to get the glue residue from the corners off. It sort of looks like a film but its just a build up of glue from around the endge of the double sided tape.

No. It was one of the other guys who likes to act like an idiot. I hope he wasnt serious. Who the hell would steal a 330i badge and then wash your car for you and clean off any left over residue???

yeah, but my problem is to actually find a place where i can plug the blow drier in. since i don't have a garage, it's really hard to find out outside...

do you think a quick detailer would get rid of the residue and/or the double-sided tape?

I didnt need it, but I'm sure it will work. Just use a microfiber cloth and some quick detailer. I had to use my nail in a few spots, but otherwise its a spotless removal. Now just need to get some wax on that area.
