1M customer ?

Do you think the new 1M will attract back many ex-M3 owners or owners to downsize to the new car ? If it it rated as high as the E30 M3 then probably so...

It will attract anyone who wants a M car that is around 3300lbs, standard and powered by a twin-turbo straight six.

I just sold two E30 M3's (89 47k mile streeter and a 88 race car) and I drive the 135i with plans to get a 1M.

Someone asked me why I didn't have a M3 yesterday, and I answered, without hesitation, it's too big!

I'm sure that the guys that like the E30 M3's will at least be interested in the new 1M. We'll see how many belly up and buy one!

I for one am going to buy!

Coming from a 335i, one of the things I really like about the 135i is the smaller size.

I'm a 17 year E30 M3 owner... unimpressed with E36M3... underwhelmed by the driving feel of the E46 M3... can't afford the E92 M3... and just waiting to hear pricing details on the 1M because it seems like it's going to be like Goldilocks.... " just right" and hopefully I get to run out of BMW Welt with it ;-)

Before this I am pretty set on getting a cayman s next, but if this little car can hold its own against a CS then my purchase decision got a whole lot complicated. I want to feel how weight shifts in tight hairpins and how crisp is the initial turn in. The 350 I have right now, turns in okay, wobbles from the weight and soft suspension before it finally settles in, but I can't get on the gas too early otherwise it's pretty tail happy.

Former m3 owner and i don't like the size of the e92. Seems like a lot of people who are hating on the 1m have never owned an m car or currently own a 135 and feel threatened. I'm 99% sure this will be my next car in spring/summer, hopefully with European delivery.

i'm an ex e30 and e36 m3 owner...will be trading in my e46 325 for the 1M pending price. Really hope they do have ED.
