Question on my BMS Install
Hey all,
Just installed my BMS DCI and my installation seems to be a tight fit in comparisson to the pictures on the installation instruction. Ive posted a picture from the installation instruction (the last picture with the yellow circle). If you look at my pictures my air hose is not behind the three cables like the one shown at the pictures above. But I cant find a way that is possible to make the air hose go behind the three cables as the air hose is clipped to that straight horizontal bar that the three cables go into. I guess I was wondering if I installed it correctly as it seems like there isnt much space and my intake is actually touching the cables. |

In the last pic, they are missing the front cable from the cowl..the one that sits closest to the top of the filter, that may be adding to why it looks a little off. Although I would say perhaps your rear filter could be a little farther OUT. Did you make sure to clamp the pipe inside the filter JUST inside, and not push it too far in, this would cause it to be too far in the back of the engine like that.

Looks fine there mate. It is a bit tight for space on our 1ers, the cables also touch my filter.

ok just needed to make sure
also I have been driving it around today and I can't seem to hear this "whoosh" noise that people keep raving about! granted i havent floored the car yet as there is a massive thunderstorm for the next 5 days over in Perth . Is the sound very noticeable or only noticeable when you go WOT? |

I'm pretty sure I have seen videos of cars with just tune and DCI and you can hear the whoosh sound quite clearly.
I don't have more money on more mods... haha.... |

It's most noticeable in the higher gears on low revs and you are a bit more heavy with your right foot. 3rd gear I believe is the best, when you lift off you get the "tschhhh" sound to boot!

will give that go when the weather clear up a bit.
I was getting paranoid that i didnt install it correctly haha.. ps. I suppose it doesn't make a different if you have AT? would it produce more sound if you have a manual 135? Last edited by RaihaX; 06-15-2011 at 02:34 AM.. |

The whoosh sound is there, the more PSI you are pushing the louder it will be...so that explains why you have not heard it if you have not floored it yet. (i.e. you have not built up any boost!!)
