Interior gray cover plate for antenna connection

This stupid little cover plate constantly falls off. I have literaly tried everything I know to keep it on.

I've tried glue, silicon, hot melt glue, wedges, and a host of other things.

Alas, nothing works. Sometimes, it just falls off when driving. Sometimes when closing a door or the trunk.

Does anyone have a solution for this....

Can you post a picture? My 128i Convertible doesn't seem to have one of what you mention.

Humm... well... now we know what you are talking about! Maybe try some electrical tape to "shim up" those tabs where they slide onto the headliner. My guess is the headliner is hanging too low for those tabs/clips to hold the cover in place. Or maybe some clear silicone? But I would use that as a last resort! I might even be tempted to buy a new cover plate and try that.

I've pretty much exhausted all those choices. Tempeted to glue the dammned thing with silicone to the window. This could easily be removed later.

Did you have some work done to the headliner - before it fell off? Just wondering why a part like that would come off?

I guess IF you had to use some silicone RTV... I would put some dabs up on the glass closest to the top of the headliner - that should hold it on.

Based on the photos, I was thinking the same thing.

Do the tabs feel bent or loose or anything? If so, I think a new cover should fix your problem. If not, your headliner might be sagging too low for that piece to clip on properly and a new cover won't help you much.
