Wheel advice for 18 in winter tires?
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but I don't think so.
I purchased four Blizzak LM-25's in 225/40-18 size with the intention of using my stock 18 in. M sport package rims as 7.5 in front, 8.5 in rears. I am now considering buying dedicated winter rims for them. At tirerack I like the Moda EB1 and the Elbrus 102 in 18in by 8in with 5-120 bolt pattern. Is the 8in the right size wheel? I don't understand the offset issue. I take it the tirerack would not recommend them if they do not fit properly. I am interested in fit but also a good look for the tire/rim setup. Anyone have these wheels or other 5-spoke suggestions? Thanks |

I realize that you are looking for an easy out for your big tires, but if it were me I'd either sell the tires outright/return them (might be spendy to do that) and get some 17's for a winter setup.
You sir are a braver man than I... I can't tell you how many "puddles in the road" i've driven through durring the winter months that end up being 12" deep chasms. When winter comes the more side wall the better for me. I'd recommend you give Gill a call, he'll be able to point you in the right direction with your offset questions. Of your two choices, I'd go with the elbrus wheels... people seem to like them here as a quality inexpensive option + they use the stock center caps which is a plus in my book. |

225's will be a perfect fit on a 8.0" wheel.
