Ok guys, new batch of MT/AT Large Bolted diffs will be ready next week.

This offer will end as soon as the new batch becomes available, so pre-order your LSD now If you have a welded diff, we also have some 3.46 pumpkins in stock if you don't mind the shorter gearing. Price is $1500 for the reconditioned pumpkin with LSD + $500 core exchange (refundable once we receive your existing pumpkin back) + shipping. |

I just started looking into lsd's a couple days ago and I really don't know too much about which one I would need.
A couple stupid questions.... How do I know if mine is welded or bolted? (I have a 13 135is 6mt) Is the only difference in the AT and MT the final drive change? So if I want the 3.46 gears I would get the AT diff? With the significant price difference in your LSD from quaife/wavetrac/etc, what is the downside? I'm very interested in adding an LSD very soon so answers would be much appreciated.

All 135i MT's are welded, and all 135i AT's are bolted.
The actual pumpkin size is different, with different differential and final drive. As you have the MT pumpkin (the large pumpkin), if you wanted a 3.46 ratio final drive (which is available in the large pumpkin from early model 335i AT's), we have these cores in stock at the moment for $1500 (inc new LSD) + $500 core exchange (refundable) + shipping There are no downsides to our LSD, only positives over the others |

There are no technical/fitment issues, however, it is a shorter ratio, so you will lose some top speed in each gear whilst at the same time gain slightly better acceleration in each gear (which is a good thing). People will tell you about decreased mpg, but this is a mixed response. If you highway cruise a lot, you will get less mpg, but vice versa, if you traffic light a lot, you will get higher mpg due to the increase throttle response (less throttle required to accelerate).
with the 3.08, you will need a new LSD and new Final Drive (Ring Gear & Pinion, which we are making). The Final Drives are still a couple months away, but will be a couple hundred more expensive than the current OEM 3.46 option we have just now as these are reconditioned oem final drives. |
