Latest dealer ED estimate

One of the local dealers just send me this info. Below is a reply to his request to BMWNA from BMWNA. He is pretty confident about it.

The following is an estimate calculation of the first possible BMW Welt delivery dates:

E82 1 series Coupe - first possible BMW Welt delivery date on 4/7/2008

E88 1 series Convertible - first possible BMW Welt delivery date on 4/14/2008

Happy Thanksgiving!

Great work Templedogg!! This jibes with the "two weeks after the 1er is being delivered in the US", that we've heard.

I just got a similar confirmation from my dealer today... He said he sent an email yesterday and got a similar reply. He told me the coupe first availability for ED is April 14th.

Boost Junky, Irv was replying to the first post, and reiterating what I said about the 2 weeks post US launch for 1st USA ED (which was reiterating something he had said in another thread).

As far as Canadian ED goes, it is not publicized, and I do not believe there are any discounts to be had. I do know that it's rarely done, because there was no cost savings for the buyer (so it's expensive). I also have read that most dealers will not even bother doing one for you, as there's a lot more work for them.

Of course, ymmv, once you check with your local dealership. When you contact them, ask them about licensing and insurance, as well as shipping your car back for you (as the US version of ED has).

Thanks larryn. Sorry must have missed that. I just got back from my dealership (the manager is a family friend) he said that it is possible. They do offer it but never really bring it up because no one knows about it. Plus im going to go see the 135i on the weekend.
