PM me if you want. I was looking to upgrade to a 335 coupe, but if i can get 335 power out of my car N/A, im doing it.

I had headers, intake, exhaust, and a crappy tune on my 330ci and it made a great difference, but i'm thinking with a proper tune and the disa swap it would be an entire worlds difference. I already have the injen intake and magnaflow exhaust.
I did do all the labor, which saves quite a bit of money over a shop doing it. I'd imagine you would be looking at $800+ in labor at a proper indy shop.

I would be willing to do it on another car.

im definitely going to get the headers/tune... as far as the disa stuff goes, ill need little bit of help when it comes to finding those parts and prices...
There is a bit of a range on the price of the manifold, but I wouldn't spend more than $500 on one. I waited over a year to get mine at the price I wanted. I would imagine you could spend a little more and get it much sooner.

The power will not be 335i, but close enough to stalk them
My rough math is as follows:
20 hp from Headers, about a minimum of 15 maybe from DISA + header tune, intake 5 hp, Magnaflow exhaust 2 hp = 277 hp area; any error would be due to staking gains, which dont really stack
20 Tq from Headers, about 20 Tq min from Disa + header tune, intake up to 8 Tq, exhaust maybe up to 5 tq = around 250 Tq; any error would be due to staking gains, which dont really stack
You are forgetting the DISA valves themselves.

I have little doubt I'm currently as fast as a 335i. Should be able to experiment with that this week.

I am being conservative, that is why I said minimum gains for Tune + Disa

MINIMUM gains from DISA/tune should be 130i power-- aka +30 hp.

Pretty sure evolve gets some gains over stock, too

The only way for you to back up such a big claim is to run it down the 1/4 mile. If you can manage to trap 103mph, you might be correct but I think you will struggle to get anywhere near 100mph.

On the many local dyno days I have seen, 130s have made 40hp less than stock 135/335s.

I don't intend on ever going to a drag strip, so dynos/pulls will have to do.

Stock is 96-97mph, so I doubt it will be much of a struggle...

Plus he has headers, 20 hp, and a tune (unknown hp) and is 270 lbs lighter than a stock 135 (don't know the weight of a 335, but I assume heavier than that.

and who cares who's is faster, the NA power delivery is way more fun than ANY turbo'd motor IMHO.

I'd just be satisfied with the n52 being opened up to remove any factory restrictions without going to Race DME/ECU. The finishing touch later on, would be replace the coil packs with Okada project ones to refine it even more.

Great thread stig! Thank you. What are your thoughts on what headers, an evolve tune and the like would do to our lower compression n51 engined cars?

I dont know if Evolve is best for n51. They never encountered the engine as far as i know.
Maybe an off-road AA tune for Headers & n51 is a more realistic path that would yield as high as 30-40hp

Couldn't agree more.

Even in history no FI engines stand out as memorable. NA engines like the S14, LS7, S54, S85, S70/2 and others will be landmarks for enthusiasts for years to come.

The character can't be matched.

I would have faith in them sorting it out and getting some good gains. In my experience with Evolve they have a much more personal touch than many of the other tuners. They really seem interested and passionate about getting your car exactly where you want it.

It's companies like Evolve that made my short BRZ ownership so painful. There was nothing like them.

Same here the Evolve team is personal, hands on and is willing to achieve customer satisfaction.

Man, you guys are making me really jealous. I won't be able to afford all the go fast parts until the end of the summer, and thats assuming i'm brave enough to take on the install myself. Would anyone be down for an install party?

Tune to stock 135i you might keep up, tune to tune you will get destroyed. Nice mod though, I had planned on doing this to my 525xi but ended up trading it for my 135i. I also have a N52 X3 3.0si, I wonder what headers and a tune would do for that!

WOW! Seriously...what a fun read.

The projects you are working on and achievements made are seriously making the 128i one of the most attractive BMWs to me right now.....

Yet again, Evolve, Supersprint, yourself, and the good guys helping you out raise the bar over and over again!!

130is?.....why not 130evolvesupersprint HAHAHAHA...not sure if it really follows the "es" monicker of the old E30s though

Keep up the great work man. I can't wait to see the dyno results with Evolve in the future!

Thanks a lot man.

I do feel like I have the dream team backing me up most of the time, it's pretty excellent.

Not sure where I would get the "e" from.
