OT : iPhone and Airport Express

I know this is wayyyyy OT but I know many of us 1addicts have iPhones....

Is it possible to connect one's iPhone to the wired network cable that many hotels have via the Airport Express? This weekend I was in an area with v.poor mobile reception but the hotel room had a wired network connection to which in the past I have hooked up to my laptop (which I didn;t have this time). Of course this meant I spent the last few days without being able to access 1addicts and M3post!!!

should work fine yes.. although the hotel might have restriction on what device can connect via something like NAC (network access control)
only one way to find out
