Spare (tire) selections

Those that have dumped their RFT, what do you use for spare? Do you get one of those small donuts and a jack? Comments welcome.

As the front and rear tires, on a 2012 135i, are different sizes what should I go for a spare?

You need the same diameter in a spare but not necessarily the same width. If you have a different size or type of tire, you should not drive as hard but otherwise it would be fine. That is why people get home on donuts - which normally aren't even the same diameter. So there are lots of possibilities.

I don't carry a spare, however, even though I do not have run flats. I just carry a compressor and plugging kit.

Just what I told you to use: 205/50R17 on a 7jx17 wheel. This is the same size wheel/tire that BMW says to use for winter tires. You can use this same size for a spare tire. It will also clear the front brakes of a 135i.

Garage List
I bought a small donut especially since I need less weight in the back to help with my rubbing issues.
