You have catless DPs on a BMW inline-6. If you have an aftermarket exhaust and aren't resonated, you will have rasp at low RPM. That's just how it is.
If your goal is to keep a fully aftermarket exhaust setup, then the only way to cut down on that noise is to resonate your catback. I run akrapovic DPs with a maddad catback and have the same rasp at 1500-2k you're talking about and that others here are noting experience with. That said, it doesn't bother me at all and I get regular compliments from other drivers all the time on how good the car sounds when you get on the loud pedal. But to answer your question, again, really the only "happy medium" so-to-speak (assuming you're tuned) is making sure you have resonator(s) on your catback. |
