Lots of 1er guys do that over here. From what I am told... its just two screws that hold the instrument "hood" in place. It pulls forward I think. Then they use some upholstery shop or DIY's.

Its a RAID Steering Wheel, and yes, its an 1M Instrument Panel .

the steering wheel was an ac schnitzer exhibit.
I bought it from them month before they started to sell the steering wheel with their logo on. Now you can get the same at raid, like comar posted above.

the gauge is an oem 1m instrument, coded to work in my 135i.

the gauge hood is not from the 1m. the 1m hood has orange stitching.
It was custom made to fit the bmwp parts by a friend of mine who is saddler.
he did some more parts for me like the seat back covers and today I gave him more work to do!

the wheel tire setup is 8.5 et 43 x 19" AC Schnitzer Type VIII with 225 tires all around.
pretty light and the handling with 225s is way better than with 215/245 or 225/255!
