I will say that for some reason I have never liked the 1M in black as for whatever reason, in the black it seems to hide the lines of the car and not show them off very well. I remember watching motorweek's review of it and you can't see any of the beautiful lines/curves of the car in that color. Looks much better to me in valencia orange and alpine white. That'd be a tough call for me as I'd prefer valencia orange, but not sure I want all the attention that one gets as IEDEI can attest to now.

I agree, the black definitely wouldn't be my first choice. VO or AW for sure.

re: IEDEI, thanks! We really like the X3's handling and suspension, it seems spot on for an SUV or SAV, sorry. Corners much better than I expected as well, as my wife was pushing one around an on ramp during a test drive a while back. I admit I got scared, but she didn't even blink (she used to have an older gen X5).
Now what is all this blasphemy about black 1Ms. Don't make me post more BMW male model pics.

Greg twisted my arm until I ordered the BMW Performance Suspension kit. I showed a photo of the kit to my wife, who said it looks like... well... see for yourself:

Driving an orange car is sort of like walking down a sidewalk naked.....everybody looks. i'm used to it now, but i won't lie----the L'orange 1M attracts a fair bit of attention...especially in the city. i think the 1M is additionally a very weird car in that a lot of people know exactly what it is....and then there are a lot of people who have no idea what it is and are trying to figure it out! haha. i will also not lie and say that there have been a couple situations where i've wanted a bit more anonymity arriving like i used to enjoy in the 135is...unfortunately the Orange 1M is incapable of making a 'discrete' entrance....lol have already put 3500 miles on the 1M since buying it. in 1+ month? i put 18k on the 135is in 9.5 months so...ummmm....yeah i think i like driving it quite a bit! well here's a photo from a couple of days ago, for greg... Despite the fact that I haven't delivered on interior pics of the X3, I couldn't resist posting these.
Some early Monday morning awesomeness:

Those trucks are worse than the plague every time they hit a bump mud and gravel come shooting out everywhere behind them and destroys your windshield/hood. I don't get it how so many people just tailgate those things.
RickMsport I'd be curious to see the sports seats in oyster btw, the X3 has the regular seats but they still look fantastic so I bet they look even better with the side bolsters.

This is true. Some years ago I was behind one that went over some railroad tracks that were very bumpy and a football sized rock bounced out of it and it hit and smashed my windshield. I was lucky I didn't get into an accident.

Tailgate nothing...
Those lifted bro-trucks are the worst of the worse. You can have six car lengths between your bumper and their exhaust, and STILL get nice showers of ejected road debris on your vehicle. I find that the people who drive trucks out here in sunny California are the same people who have difficulty coloring inside the lines*. They are constantly drifting those oversized wheels into the medians, and kicking up all the gravel that lives there. Grumpy. *Due to underdeveloped motor skills, and not from a creative spirit. It won't be cheaper than a 1M. Even though the auction starts at 34k I'd be shocked if it went for any less than 50.

Awww, crap man! That sucks beyond belief. What happened?! Don't worry, I will not quote you since I don't want it to repost the photos. I guess TRYING to look on the bright side is it doesn't look TOO bad and could have been worse. Just new bumper and perhaps diffuser? I feel your pain though as I had something similar on my old 135, if this makes you feel any better, though I imagine right about now, nothing will:

Glad you're ok. Sorry you got rear ended though. I was going to post my (kinda) good news, but now it's lost a bit of its luster. Anyway, guess who (finally) cracked 2,500?! Yep. This guy.
