I hear that noise as well but only when I rev my car. It sounds exhaust related to me.

ok boys.... the 1m/m3 subframe bushings are in my beast..... and oh my dear... this is the must do mod.... this is how it should have came from the factory. So TIGHT and PLANTED. Driving on RAILS! Between yesterday and this morning i am so wowed..... what a feeling. Dackel's observations are dead on. Expensive? Yes. Labor intensive? Yes, but worth every single freaking penny!

Everybody, just go do it!

My thoughts and review is identical to Dackels... here is the link:

I'm going to look into this mod. Now that I have a local shop I trust to work on my car (they did a great job installing the BMW Performance Suspension), the subframe bushings may be next. I already have the rear subframe inserts, and they helped a lot, but I'm ready for more medicine. A few days ago I found THE section of highway that can effectively and repeatedly demonstrate the "rear end sideways kick out" that is the hallmark of our squishy stock rear subframe bushings. Joints in the road surface kick the rear end sideways. At highway speed they come every 2-3 seconds. Some don't disturb the car, but others send your butt sideways.

Rick, you gotta do it.... This is how it should have been. I can only imagine these m3 bushings with your MPSS and BMW PS... My next upgrade is going to be the MPSS in the 25 and 255 sizes. Since the season is almost over, they will be the first thing I do in the Spring.

Would love to do it but I need to put my spare pennies in my piggy bank for the M2.

if any fellow (or ex-fellow?) 135is owners want to acquire their winter setups early......mine are now for sale on the NYC forums. As you know.....these were the tires behind my ultimate donut performances this past winter! sad to see this setup go. My 1M setup will be very similar though

i really don't want to ship these...sorry...but if you want to make a road trip to come and get them it's definitely worth it!

A Glimpse Into My Daily Horror

Thought I'd share a glimpse into the daily horror that is commuting in Los Angeles. You can imagine how happy I was to be to the left of this person while driving to work this morning. It's amazing I can somehow ever make it to wherever I'm going in one piece. For the record, I took this while stopped at a red light, not while moving.

Hard to tell....Is that a map acting as a sun visor (while blocking the driver's vision)?

I've seen people putting on makeup while driving, reading a book, and of course texting and talking on phones....

That would be a giant map of LA they wedged in to block their entire view to the left. The sad thing is, we're driving DUE EAST so the sun was dead ahead of us.

Here's the lady behind me doing her eye makeup taking a quick break from shaving her mustache, chin, and neck, which I will eventually get a picture of for motorchimp.

This should be no surprise to you, Kouper. Here in the bay we have a LOT of people who drive with sun visors covering their entire face, stuff on the windows to block the sun, slippery elbow-length gloves in case the sunlight touches their skin, the list goes on...

And I'm just gonna keep it real here and say that by "people" I mean "asians".

Can't wait to see it

Hey I take pics while driving! But really the absolute worst I've seen was an old guy in a SAAB with a bowl of milk and cereal in his lap spooning that up at near 70mph. I see people reading books in traffic all the time, even a newspaper once. I can't imagine how on earth anyone could read such small fonts while driving.
Not directly related, but yesterday I saw this younger kid on a full blown 1199 Ducati dangerously weaving in and out of heavy traffic like a complete nincompoop with both knees out at the same time to help him weave better. My wife sarcastically said look it's Valentino Rossi, but I told her clearly this guy was twice as good as he could drag both knees at the same time.

When I was a kid, my mom used to work in Koreatown. It was part of the Wilshire district back then. Still may be part of the Wilshire district.

Also, while driving today a white Nissan GTR drove by me with a grey haired middle aged woman driving. We were moving so I couldn't get a picture, but caught a glimpse of her license plate as she flew by. "MOMZLLA", I think.

Ha, Momzilla.

Sadly, I see like an 80 year-old lady on occasion on my drive to work driving 10mph under the speed limit always in the left lane in a CTS-V coupe. I simply don't get it. Why does an old lady get a CTS-V coupe with 556 horsies only to drive...well, like an old lady? Get a prius and call it a day and git out my way!

Dropped my car off this morning for my first service... The new facility that was built in Portchester Ny is pretty cool... They gave me a lift to the train station because I work in NY. I get a call from my Service Associate and he tells me my oil change, inspection wipers and fluids were all completed. He then told me "Man this car is really cool... Probably the second or third IS Ive seen". Fifteen minutes later I get a call from my tech... Told me how nice the car is and he actually brought up my waste gate rattle... He told me it was nothing to worry about but if i wanted to fix it to make an appointment with a loaner cause it would take two days to fix... All around good experience! Im bored at work so I figured I'd fill you guys in.
