Gah!!!! (That sinking feeling)

It had to happen. The first crunch, crash, thump, followed by that sinking feeling.

I curbed a wheel into a barrier at a multi-storey car park.

Want to kill someone.

Sorry, just had to vent...

First dings ...

I understand ... each of my BMWs have "kissed" the side of the garage door frame ... mirrors ... wheels ... fenders ... and this past weekend, yes, the 1M was initiated into that club as well.

No damage, well, a tad patch of scuffs on the rim and some white paint on the fender which a clay bar took off.

Still, in all, a very demoralizing experience.

I curb rashed my wheel the other day. I swore all the way from where I parked my car to walking into the office. Of course I said "Good morning" with a smile to the receptionist yet continued to sulk the rest of the morning.

It was made to be used and enjoyed above all - so use it and enjoy it - and own it instead of vice versa! I always feel better when something has/gets a bit of minor damage as it helps me to relax about owning the car/item. Started with an electric guitar I bought in the late 80s for £800-00: I was sooooo precious about it, until one day a few months after buying a friend had a go and I hadn't spotted his sharp metal belt buckle..... cue a few fine scratches all over my baby's back... a few tears metaphorically speaking, after which I felt quite a lot of relief as I no longer had to worry about keeping the thing mint!! (I've still got that guitar too.)

not to be the bad guy...

they usually dont cover road rash...( cosmetic damage) they usually only repair or replace wheels when they "no longer are able to hold air"

It doesn't cover cosmetic damage, just structural like a dent.

Sorry to hear this happened to you. I also scraped the gutter a few weeks ago
I don't if it is because the car is 2" wider or because of the monster-sized rims

Well, those 2" didn't help with my garage opening ... then again ... I had a foot or more on the other side ... arggggh.

Figured, that was one of the reasons I haven't called them.
