Now swap the GT3 for a Turbo .. a Turbo S ... or a GT2. I mean .. come on! A GTR versus a GT3?

Lol, that was sick dude. Very enjoyable. The 458's exhaust note gave me goose bumps. The 1M was a bit out of its league but still pulled a very respectable time.

12.9 for the evora is pretty good for a car with a toyota v6.

Would love to see a comparison like that with some tuned exotics:

or perhaps:

Bit of sales hype but insane nonetheless.

Thanks for sharing! As people have said, an interesting mix of cars with some unusual choices. Definitely the wrong 911.

That is a stunning launch by the GTR. Imagine what high performance electric cars of possibly only a few years from now will do with instantaneous 100% torque/ power.

From a standinding start the 1M isn't really quick due to too much wheelspin with traction off and too much intervention with traction on, even intermediate traction control. My 335i ( auto ) will easily beat my 1M off the line in day to day driving. It's the in gear acceleration of the 1M that blows you away. If they were to produce an in gear acceleration test at say 80 to 140 in 3rd gear I think there would be a very different result. There was a post where the 1M comprehensively beats cars like the 458 and R8 with in gear acceleration. So don't be dismayed N54 / N55 ers, our cars kick arse in the real world. Including, BTW, the M3 that the original ( troll, not you SBC ) poster runs.

That's a ridiculous choice for a Porsche. A Turbo S would have smoked the GTR and everything else in that run. Hell even a Pana Turbo S would be quicker that GT3RS. Put some corners in, that'd be completely different story.

I don't get why you guys are stuck up on the Porsche? The test didn't say they wanted to get the fastest cars from each brand? I think the Porsche did pretty well considering it's competition.

Because if the test had substituted a Turbo, Turbo S or GT2 then the Porsche would have won the competition by over a second.

I don't think the aim was to find the fastest car down the quarter mile... I think it was more of a "lets get as many fast cars as we can get and race them together". I mean, they had the Cayman R too (why have that at all?)

ps- Which Porsche can do the 1/4mile in 10.2 seconds?!

Because they say it was all in they name of fun but then go on to document the finishing times of all cars as if its some proven truth. If they had the 997 turbo s competing against the 370z, nissan fanboys would be incensed too. Horses for courses as they say.

Stock Turbo S has run a 10.7 1/4 mile at WSID. GT2 RS would likely be faster still.

Me, I am so stoked that we actually have two of the cars in their 'for fun' test. Not trying to brag but I'm happy as a pig in shit with both.

Oh yeh, I don't care that they were 2nd and 3rd slowest of the lot either hahaha
