What do you mean trickle charger ?
A battery charger that can be set on a low setting that can give your battery small amounts of electricity.

Not sure if you need a full or partial read of the DME. Hopefully TheSt|G can clarify.

All the best!

This would be spot on. Given the time it takes, I would suspect it is a full DME read, but I don't know for sure.

Partial is fine-- get's all the parameters required for tuning.

Full is for when they're trying to diagnose a larger issue.

I don't believe a .mod file is compressed.

Parallels is fairly meaningless-- when you're within parallels, you're just on a PC.

What I do (I use boot camp and boot it up as a PC for car stuff, use it as a mac the rest of the time) is keep all my tune files on dropbox. That way you can compress, email, whatever you need to do easily on the mac side, and just access and flash the files on the PC side.

".mod" is the tuned file.

All you have to do now is fire up the EvolveR software and select that ".mod" file and you're good to go!

If you downloaded it from Gmail, it might have already uncompressed it immediately after downloading.

".mod" is for sure the file extension of the tune.

Yup, that's what you flash to your car!

A progress bar will pop up. Once it reaches 100%, it'll ask you to turn off the ignition. After you turn off the ignition, it will go through a countdown process before you can start up your car again.

You'll know it was done properly if this pops up

do you need a laptop in the car in order to install the evolve tune? that's a bummer if so. I liked the convenience of my AA being handheld since I don't have a laptop.

I suppose if you didn't want a code reader in plain text that would be good.

I have access to various code readers so that's not a concern for me at all.

Code reader /= plain text.

This also means Evolve can remote dyno tune.

St|g,

Since you've tuned your car, how often have you done updates from evolve? I guess what I'm asking is, are they able to do various little fixes free of charge once you have bought their software, cable, etc?
