bluetooth has stopped working!
I have been using my bluetooth with my phone for months no problem. For the last week when a call comes in I answer it and then there is nothing. No sound and the person can't hear me. If I try calling, I select the number and dial and it says "connected" but I hear nothing. The person at the other side gets a call come thru but they can't hear anyone. I have tried deleted the phone and the car from both divices and then re-pair them. Still no luck. Ideas or a trip to the dealer???

Maybe, but make sure it's not the phone. Be a shame to go to the dealership only to find out a phone there works. Try another phone first? Was it an iPhone? If so, maybe reload to factory first, just to be sure.

Just a "ask the obvious" question ... have you switched your phone on/off again since the problem started? My Motorola occasionally goes West on Bluetooth, and I have to reboot it to get it going again.

Phone works fine...it is a Samsumg. The radio displays the signal strength and they talk to eachother. When my phone rings with an incoming call. it mutes the stereo, gives me option of "answer" but once answered there is nothing there! Conversly if I select a # to call "call home" it says connecting (and it will call my house) but I can't hear the phone ring or my wife talk once she answers. So I try again and my wife gets madder and madder every time I call back.

Sounds strange. Like somehow the audio functions of the bluetooth connection aren't working even though the connection is there. I would check with the dealer. Also, you might check if your phone is known to be compatible with BMW's bluetooth, although if it worked in the past you would think that would'nt be the issue. Here is the BMWUSA website address for bluetooth:

Give it a windows try. Unpair and re-pair.

same problem
I'm having the same problem - has been working fine for 5 months, yesterday it decided to stop.
In my case, I can hear the other person, but they can not hear me. It seems as if I pushed a "mute" button, but I cannot seem to find one. I tried making calls with two different phones and had the same results. (I did call different people just to make sure the problem was on my side). I tried turning the car off and on and try again, but I didn't disconnect my battery or anything. I'm going to swing by the dealer today. All other car-phone functions seem to work fine. |
