Best trim with Black leather?

Just wondering what everyone thinks. This site rocks. Think I am going to purchase within the next couple days.

So far... 330, TiaSilver, sport, premium, manual (maybe auto?), black leather and I need to decide on the trim. (Local dealer only has one of the woods with black leather so I cant compare.)

I went with poplar. Saw burl in the showroom and, while nice, it looked too dark.

Download the configurator from this site. It should give you an idea of the different looks.

Frothboy,

If you've chosen TiAg for you exterior colour then go for either Matt Titanium or Aluminium trim. Mine's standard matt Titanium.

Aluminium it is for a sporty look. If you need a more formal look, wood goes better.

I have the black half leather in my new motor with the brushed aliminium trim.

Will post pics when I get it - should look good though!

Get the brushed aluminum trim, imo the wood looks better with a beige interior.

The black and aluminum looks superb!

Not a big fan of the wood though.

I have not been able to see the aluminum in person. It seems to be the favorite among the posters on this board. I want to go down to a dealer and buy a car like yesterday. I dont know if worrying about the trim is worth waiting 2 months if I order a car. But on the other hand if I am spending $45K on a car, I want it exactly right. The dealer has the car I want with light wood. I am not sure whether I like the light or dark wood better, and I have not been able to see the aluminum except for in pictures. Thanks for all the help.

Call your dealer to see if they have Brushed Aluminum on another 3 Series. They changed the texture a bit on the e90 (no more swirls, just straight horizontal lines).

I looked at interior trim combinations on 10 cars today. I thought I was going to like the aluminum the best because I don't really like the idea of wood in modern cars that are chiefly composed of metal and plastic, but I ended up liking the burl walnut wood better. Poplar looked a bit too yellowish grey for my taste. I liked the black leather/leatherette the best.

Yeah, it's just plastic.
The brushed aluminum, however, is actually real metal.
Does anyone know for sure if the brushed aluminum trim is the same type found on the E46? My dad has it on his M3, I'm wondering if the new 3 has the same kind, cause it looks really nice. From the pictures it looks like it's the same.
