Can glacier silver aluminum trim be painted?
Hey forum,
Finally took delivery of my 135... but, I am not overly happy with the look of the glacier aluminum trim inside my savannah beige interior. Just seems to be too many colors going on. I am not a fan of any of the other trim choices, (thought about black trim but did not like the "glittery" look of it) but am curious if there is a way to either paint the trim or powder coat it? Ideally I would like to paint it a semi-transparent smoky gray/black color that would still allow some of the silver to show through, just to tone down the silver. But it could look cool painted opaque too w/ a matte finish or semi-gloss finish black. Obviously it needs to be durable as it's touched all the time @ the handles. Any metal/painting experts out there? Would love to tackle this project, but only if final product looks finished enough and won't chip down the road. |

If you can wait until mid-October I'll swap you the gloss black trim on my 128 for your glacier. It should be easier to paint than the glacier which has small indentations where paint might collect.
Also check a company called Z-leather (on the vendor board), they can cover the trim in leather. |
