And it seems a bit overcast in your photos as well. Regardless, it looks very nice. A local tinting shop quoted me $400 for ceramic tint and installation. How's the price?

Thanks for the info. He said it was an estimated price since they've never worked on a 1, so I'm sure they'll ratchet up the price some once I bring the car in.

I'll certainly ask if they have it. I've heard nothing but good things about HO tints.

True. The tint shop that estimated $400 for ceramic charge only $185 for non-ceramic. Pretty big price difference.
How long have you had yours? What do you think of the material overall?

So far its been pretty good. Car is extremely cool temperature wise. The tint shop did an exceptional job with the dot matrix. I had it for 4 days and I'm monitoring the bubbles. So far so good...

Sorry I haven't posted pictures yet, but I've been on vacation for a little over a week. I ended up getting the Drei tint, so it's metallic not ceramic. I haven't had any problems with radio interference or anything like that. I'll try to post pictures tomorrow or the next day.

Here's a link to pictures of my car with my Huper Optik tint... Like I said it's the Drei metallic and not the ceramic, but it should help to give an idea of what the Huper looks like.

Went to a shop tonight, midAmerica Tint, that installs Huper Optik. Getting the tint to lay down in between the raised edge dots on the windows is an issue and elongates the install process.
The neat thing this shop had was a 'PlotterCutter', looked like a big blueprint printer that actually scored the film so that they didn't have to take a razor blade anywhere near the interior of the car. |

HuperOptik has been discontinued and replaced with Crystalline. I'm guessing that a lot of your installers just don't sell enough of HO and have remaining inventory laying around. So even though it's not Huper, I'll post it here as it's just the new generation. My brother, Justin(OKC), had CR40 on the sides & rear, and CR70 on the windshield and sunroof. Makes a huge difference. A big advantage of Crystalline is that it is easier to install because it is so much thinner like "normal" tint. Here are pictures I took the day I picked it up from tint and clear bra installation.

hmmmm... I'm not quite sure if HO has been discounted everywhere. I just sent a buddy of mine to get it done last weekend here in CA. But your car looks great nevertheless

My brother's windshield was the first I have had experience with, and I know that makes a huge difference. It's the biggest window with the greatest angle for the sun to come in. Protection from heat and UV protection for the dash make it definitely worth it. If you've spent the money for Huper, you ought to consider doing this as well. |
