Transmission cooler?

Does anyone know where the transmission cooling line are on the radiator? I have looked around without taking anything apart and it does not seem very apparent on their location.

Now I'm very confused, I have to go take a look but why would the lines go to the oil cooler housing? I ask these questions because I wanted to upgrade my radiator to a mishimoto but it states they are only for a 6 speed. I had thought because of that it was due to transmission cooler lines.

The item (10) on Dackel's diagram above is the heat exchanger for the transmission oil. It provides both heating and cooling of the Transmission fluid to keep it at a stable temperature. It is mounted at the coolant outlet pipe on the bottom of the radiator. I am not sure if the DCT, and ZF auto are exactly the same or not. From the real oem page it seems the same scheme applies to both, but I still feel some doubt about it.

So why would a radiator from a 6 speed not fit in a auto?

I want to get the Mishimoto alum radiator but it states its for a 6 speed only. So, I don't get it. If there is no tranny cooler in it on the OEM, this should fit.

I sent a question off to a supplier, see what they say.

The heat exchanger is mounted to the bottom of the cooling fan, not the radiator. I think there are additional hoses coming from the radiator to said heat exchanger, and that's the difference.

Yeah, Autos and DCTs have the Transmission cooler. 6MT doesn't fit because these extra lines to the cooler don't exist in the 6MT

By the way, here is a similar older thread... http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...9#post16758759
Maybe you can get some ideas from there.
