If you choose accessories when you "order" how does it work?
1) If i choose the upgraded bumper, do they let me keep the one that arrives on the car? (same goes for mirror housings, and any other part that is replaced)
2) Does the dealer paint and install the parts? 3) Or do those parts come from the factory painted with the car? And if so is it cheaper because you don't have the extra OEM stuff? Thanks L |

From what I've read, 2009 cars will have the parts installed at the factory and that probably means you wont get the "stock" parts. For 2008, the dealer did the install and you could have the "stock" parts. I have my AW mirror covers and spoiler in my garage.
You can probably forget about it being cheaper. Coach |

can you provide a source? I am hoping to place my order this week, but I'm reluctant - with such a lack of concrete 2009 information (no brochures with photos that might show any changes to the car that we're expecting), or changes like you just mentioned.....
that it might be worth waiting a few weeks before putting in the order. |

If you're still undecided then I would wait until more information comes out about the 2009. There shouldn't be any drastic changes, but you never know. A little change can make a huge difference.
It's also my understanding the parts will be installed in the factory. However you think this would warrant some form of discount since you're not paying for 2 parts (stock then aftermarket).

For example: Someone orders a 135i with a bunch of mods, then backs out of the deal after the car has been made. Now the dealership would be stuck with a car that's harder to sell than a plain 135.

true, but I'll leave a larger deposit if they want .... maybe ordering Euro delivery will help... this way they know i'm serious AND bmw will want me to pick it up finished, and not un-modded.

I don't think European Delivery will make any difference. The car is still ordered/configured the same. It's more than likely a case of BMW not wanting to throw more variables in the production process.
