New House need Garage floor ideas.
Hey guys
Moving into a new house in a couple months. Need ideas for a nice 3 car garage floor to put in for car leaks, and general quality garage floor for the cars, working in on a work bench ( and weight bench) etc. Ideally it wouldn't stink for long. I have always liked the clean painted or epoxy looking floors but have no experience with them. PLace we are in now has the old cement floors with the oil stains and I can't stand it! Thanks Bros Shroom |

Don't laugh at me guys, but I have a cement floor with a carpet on top. That way when I get tired of looking at it or it gets too stained (about every year and a half), I roll it up and put it out on the curb. Then I go to HD or Lowes and pick up another remnant (cheap). It's also feels great to walk on. I also do repairs on my cars on the carpet and it makes for a great covering as most times I don't have to use a creeper. I know it's not for everyone and people laugh at me that I spoil my VO for parking it on carpet and most days it even sits under a cover.

Tile sounds interesting actually, although the grout might be the weak link for dirt and grime. The Gauge garage looks good though. I imagine something thats easy to clean and wash out. I'll take a peek at the garage journal.

I have a 3 car garage and did Versa Roll last summer. It's great and super easy to install. Took about 3 hours and cost about $700.

I had been looking at it for our renovation, and we have decided on porcelain tiles. Most expensive option but the most elegant I think.

Have to wait for the slab temp to come up a bit more. Garage is already diamond grinded, and the joints are sealed. I got this to do now |

I have an epoxy coat floor and have been really happy with it. It does not stain and is easy to clean. I just hose it down, pass a broom over it to loosen up dirt where it is carried in heavily by tires, then wipe out the dirt and water with a squeegie. It is durable. I have dropped a few heavy items with no chips or cracks. Looks great. Cost me $4 per square foot.

Wow that's clean!! Love the 2 post and the cabinets!
I am getting a 4 post soon to store more. When I bought my house the floors had just been done w tan epoxy Rustoleum brand. I think it sells at Home Depot/Lowes for under $100

Is it holding up OK? I have a new shop garage (put in last fall) that I should do something to before trash it. Relatively inexpensive epoxy would be an option. I would struggle to do it if it cost even $1/sq ft, however. Cheap tile can be had for less than that although thinset and grout would up the cost some. But I think I could tile it for under $2/ft2. I also have a problem that I'm using the shop already and it is full of tools. It would be easier to tile an area at a time than it would be to epoxy an area at a time, I think.
