"Statutory Service"
Hi guys
I don't drive my car a great deal (I often travel for work). As a result, the service indicators that display when you start the car or go hunting in iDrive are showing that I need an oil change and a major service in about 14,000kms or July 2012. However, my car is currently warning me about needing a 'statutory service' which I believe coincides with my last service some 12 months ago. What do you normally do? Is this similar to the Pitstop service offered by Auto Classic or do I need a full service, irrespective of what the condition based calculator is telling me? I am planning on calling the dealer but as they rarely seem to know their fingers from their asses I thought I would check here first. Cheers Paul |

I thought the statutory service was somthing you could set yourself. It's the annual government (RTA in NSW) inspection/roadworthy inspection test if you car is > 5 y/o. At least that's what I thought when I last read the manual.

Thanks very much - you are quite right about setting the date myself.
I am still dropping in for a pitstop as I need some coolant and oil. Appreciate the pointer. Regards Paul |

Nah it's not a scheduled service, statutory is something you set yourself. Mine's set to 2022 or something cos it annoyed me.
