This is great to know. Losing that sound would make me sad! Did you flash to the 135iS Stage 3? I'm thinking that is slightly different to the 135i one so as to maintain certain PPK characteristics a.l.a. snap crackle and pop

Just ordered parts for 1M mirror conversion. Surprisingly the hardware for the most part is pretty affordable -- it's the stupid glass that pushes the conversion price north of $1000 ($700 for left/right mirrors)... BUT I was able to find a set of OEM mirrors on eBay for a fraction of the price! And best of all, they were Euro mirrors so they have the wide angle lenses =D

Wouldn't it have been easier and cheaper to just steal IEDEI's and have them painted lemans blue?

Or just keep as is and go for Syracuse theme? In all seriousness I never even had any intention to swap the mirrors till about 2 hours ago when I got sideswiped by a van. I was able to swerve in time and avoid major damage but he still managed to nick my side mirror. I called 911 and reported the plate. Cop shows up 10 mins later and gives me every reason in the world why it's not worth him making a report but it came down to

I told the cop, screw the damage, I'll pay out of pocket. I just want the SOB caught and he/she lose her license but again, he kept saying since I can't identify the driver the person would get away with it. LAME.

Thats lame. For what it's worth, the mirror swap is super easy and damn does it look awesome.

Man that sucks. Are just the caps damaged?

I know Bimmian sells what appear to be carbon fiber skins it looks like for $165 vs the full CF cap which I think is normally like $500+ for the pair if that perhaps is a cheap fix for the old ones.

I still think we should steal IEDEI's though to pay it forward.

Yep, saw the DIY and it looks really simple. 1 notch harder than Blacklines =)

Yep, just the caps are damaged but seeing how the 'is' caps are that gloss black, don't think it'll be easy to find a set. Not sure if the gloss black is an official color like Jet Black or Black Sapphire Metallic

I'm going to see if I can find someone selling an OEM CF covers on the classifieds. And if not, I'll buy the regular primed (unpainted) caps at $50 per side and paint myself or vinyl wrap (gloss black or cf).

Having my caps painted white as we speak. Mine are heated, anti dazzle, power folding and tilting when car is put into reverse. I had to order from England because I'm RHD.

Question, I know LHD and RHD mirror housings are different but are the mirror glass pieces actually different?
