Spare 17'' donut with 18'' wheels?

I have 18'' 261 M wheels. Can I put a 17'' donut in the trunk and rely on it? Or do I need an 18'' donut?

Just keep the overall wheel diameter/offset the same with your tire selection and a 17" wheel will work fine as a temporary spare.

Should work just fine for temporary short term use. Just make sure the rolling diameters are within 1% of each other. You can use this link. to check.

A 17 inch wheel will fit fine over the 135i's front brakes. I used a space saver(donut) for awhile before going to a full size 17inch steel wheel.
