Bmw Order Delays Due To Snow!
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.
Have currently got an order in for a 118i M-Sport Convertible in Alpine White with Coral Red Leather, Step-Auto, Xenons, Comfort Pack, USB, Bluetooth, Prof Radio, 18" wheels, Service inclusive. The car was ordered on the 14th October for a delivery before Christmas, unfortunately because of the snow I still havent received the car, I know the car is currently at their distribution site in Thorne, Just felt I needed to come on here to see if anyone else is as frustrated as I am. I was originally told (staying positive for before Christmas) then it was (end of December), and now I'm at (most likely the first few weeks in to the new year) but no actual dates. Does anyone else agree that its a bit ridiculous? A couple of weeks ago they told me the snow was extrememely bad in Yorkshire and that no one could do anything up there. I took it upon my self to phone a random BMW dealer in Yorkshire where I enquired about a random 3 series they had for sale, they said the snow has now completely cleared, you could come up this weekend for a test drive and drive it back down the same day.. hmmm... Anyway, am really excited for the new car as it's a 20th birthday present to myself after a hard year of work! |

Frustrating for you, but tractor trailer trucks are succeptable to jacknifing on wet pavement. Imagine snow and ice underfoot! If they dump a load of cars on the road, and one of them is yours you'll have to wait another 6 weeks, or you'll get a repaired car.. Hold on to your hat. Its coming.

The snow is worse in the Northeastern US. Things have been shut down for days.

I had to take a car they had here in TX (same car but no nav) so I could take delivery by the end of the week. If the deal isn't done by year end I'd lose the incentives currently going on (or thats the story),
Drops my lease payment 70 bucks a month so I'll deal!

Depends how long the car on the lot has been sitting... remember he's been making monthly finance (floor plan) payments on it. Depending on the number of payments he's made, his car may have already cost him more than yours will when it comes in.

He had to bring in the car as a trade from another dealer - they do not have a single 135i coupe in stock.
I thought this through. I promise!

If it was sitting at the other dealership, he was charged those pass along payments too. I'd still wait for what I ordered if I were you.

Hi Dean
I sympathise. I ordered my new 135i Coupe back in August. Was originally due on 2nd November but they then shifted this (with no notice) to December. Without bleating on about all the various conversations I had the snow reaked havoc at the ports. The ship couldnt dock in the UK due to the port being closed due to bad weather. This added a weeks delay. They BMW insisted taking the car to the supplying dealer in Glasgow despite the fact Scotland has been closed for nearly a month due to the snow. Much arguing and negotiating later BMW finally agreed to have the car sent to Thorne near Doncaster which is their UK Distribution Centre. The car was delivered 2 days ago and thankfully it was worth the wait. Hang in there! |

Hi there,
Sorry for the late reply.. Well I'm glad to know you've now got your car! The snow is a bit of a nightmare when it comes to getting my new car, I still have no news at all as to when I should be getting it, It's still just sitting in the distribution centre in Thorne where it has been for about 3 weeks now Businesses should be up and running again from tomorrow so hopefully I will here some news, a bit sick of waiting now but oh well! that's life! |
