Turbo timer

Hi. I was just wondering if anyone cools down their turbo's before shutting off their car. Does anyone have a turbo timer installed. Thanks.

I drive a little less aggressively for the last 10 mins of my drive if I've been on the highway.

Same thing I do with the APR Audi.

my understanding is that the electric water pump continues to circulate coolant after the engine is shut off, but there is no further oiling of the turbos.

i usually idle it for a minute or so after i park if im driving normal. If i was doing "spirited runs" i usually just smoke a cig while it idles, and thats plenty.

I slow down a 1/2-1 minute or so before turning it off and if I have been driving hard, I'll just drive around normally for an extra minute or two to let things settle down. Coolant is usually not the issue, it is keeping the impeller bearings lubricated since they can continue to turn after you shut off the engine. It should have enough lubrication if driven normally, but gunning the engine before shutting it down is probably not a good idea, though I have seen salesmen do it.

I don't fly through my neighborhood or parking lots so it cools off plenty before I park anywhere.

I usually just take it easy for a mile or two before I reach my destination.

I let it idle for 3-4 minutes after coming in off the track. I don't do some for street driving.

Theres no need for a turbo timer but letting the car cool on a slow ride such as I do ... after running my 1M at a harder pace i usually take a 10 mile cool down easy shifts let mother nature cool down the turbos

LOL.

As with the others, I let my car cool several minutes after coming off track or autocross course. On the street I usually let it idle for about 30 seconds to a minute after I stop.

My delivery agent at Euro delivery recommended leaving the car running during the time it takes to rummage around and gather ones things immediately prior to exiting the car, and then shutting it off as one exits. This way one can easily let the car idle for 30 seconds to a minute.
