The pilot super sports. I've had mine for about a year now (they replaced my stock Bridgestones) and they are the absolute shit. I think they are pretty much the best street tires around.

I must be in the minority: I don't think the ride on my runflats is any worse than that of my old E36 with Bridgestone RE960s...

After day 4 on PSSs I'm starting to reconsider my switch, the car doesn't have the razor sharp steering anymore. If you really love the steering you might want to stay with runflats.

Yup, I agree with everyone else. Hankook Ventus V12's - Best bang for the buck in my personal opinion, I run them on my car as well. They're a BIT squishier than most all-seasons but you wouldn't be able to tell unless it was a side by side comparison. Second choice would be BFG RE760's, Yoko S-drives, Continental DW's.

I was ready to buy PSS, but with the $70 rebate from Tire Rack on the V-12s bringing the total under $600 for the set, I couldn't resist.

I'm with ya brotha, I really have no beef with the RFTs aside from not lasting long. I just went with the PSSs for more grip and longer lasting. The tires are great I just really miss that sharp steering.

To each his own. But for me I really like the feel and control of the RFT. I have always liked smaller cars because I feel more in control of the vehicle. The RFT give me that feeling. The ride, along with the sport suspension, is a little rougher than my 325i but I like it. Just my TCW.

My RFT's were nice when good and warm, but awful when cold.

We have a lot of crappy roads here in the NE especially w/ winter taking it's toll.

Everyone's take on the Michelin PSS (or any other non-RFL tire) is right, a much nicer ride but not as razor sharp as the RFL's due to the softer sidewall.

Funny thing is, I'll probably drive my car MORE now that the ride is not so choppy. They stick like bubblegum on hot pavement. :-)

Since mine is not a DD, I'll consider going to a newer generation of RFL next time around.

If your 128i came with OEM Goodyear NCT5 RFTs as mine did, I'm not surprised as they are Summer Touring tires, not Performance rubber like the 135i's Bridgestone RE 050A. While the Goodyears ride quite softly for an RFT, the performance is nothing to write home about and the price is unacceptably high. My replacement DWS both ride and handle better and will likely last at least twice as long as the OEM NCTs.

Yeah, I saw the price of the NCT5s tires at TireRack... Outrageous.
