Front German license plate

I have a vanity license plate on my 1. I am thinking of ordering a vanity German license plate to match. My state does not require to have a license plate in the front so it's legal.

Should I ordering a Germany license plate in the front?

If you like that look, that's all that really matters.

I live in a one plate state & see a lot of ED plates around. Not something I would do, like the clean lines of the M-Sport, but if you like it go for it.

I'm ecstatic to live in a no front plate state. Can't imagine putting one on unless I was forced to. The front bumper was not designed to carry one and it really messes up the look.

Im sad because the dealership made 4 holes in mine to mount the euro license plate bracket. SO when i return to the states with it, i will have to have those repaired, or replace my bumper with the 1M rep. I was pretty pissed off when I saw it. My plates are secured using velcro now. Very clean look. and I can swap for my customized plates for show, and then reinstall my legal plates before I leave. It's very convinient.

very interesting idea with Velcro. does it stay on really well? I've never run a front plate with the 1M but have gotten 1 ticket....am thinking of putting one on as i park around the city quite a lot and am always wondering if i'll get a ticket. I wonder if they make orange velcro? lol

Ive had my car to vmaxx (155mph ) multiple times over the year i've had them mounted with velcro and they have never came off. multiple track days, automatic carwashes, etc. They are very hard to remove. it works. I used 4X 6" velcro strips in a double VV patern ( [VV] ) and it's mounted solid and there isn't any black plastic surround. Looks 1K times better.

The velcro isn't exposed. Look at my picture above.

No no, was talking about IEDEI driving with the velcro and no plate on his car, then putting the plate on after parking. Your install looks great.

Yeah the velco would trap alot of bugs i would imagine... best part witht the velcro is you could mount the plate on either side of the bumper instead of in the middle. it would look clean that way too.

Thanks everyone for your inputs. I have decided to order to license plate to match with my rear plate (my daughter's name). If I don't like it, I'll remove the plate and use it for her room
3M tape, no drilling on my front bumper.

Smart idea! Sadly I need to have those four holes fixed too. Running with no front plate in a state where that's not exactly legal... Would be a great way to temporarily satisfy for a fix it.

Do body shops fill those holes or do I have to scrap the whole front bumper?

Picked up my car at the Welt. They put the front plate on using double sided tape. Was stuck on good.

Another alternative to the velcro is the no holes plate bracket. Thats what I have on my car and tbh will prob be getting on all future cars so long as I live in the DC Metro area.

The bracket is offset to the right and gives the car a distinctive look, I would highly recommend this alternative to using double tape or velcro, since you can easily take the plate off and replace with the factory bumper insert.
