Tire Pressure for winters?

135 sport

door says 36/38 for front and rear, but that's for the oem summers.

Now i'm on 17s with 205/50R17 Winter Sport 3D from TireRack. Tires came with 34.5PSI all around. Is that the recommended pressure?

Thanks to Gill's fast shipping and excellent tire/rims. Ride quality is awesome

At least all of your tires had air in them. Great service from TireRack on ordering and delivery but one of the Blizzaks had zero psi upon arrival and would only hold pressure for a few hours. Customer service instructed me to take the tire to one of their recommended installers who found that the special valve used with the pressure sensors was missing an O-ring and washer. Once replaced all was as it should be.

I had to pay ~ $55 for the repair but faxed the receipt to Tire Rack and my credit card was refunded within a few days. A bit of a hassle, but handled nicely by TireRack.

I'm running 36/36 but got that from the manual.

The owner's manual shows 33psi front/36psi rear for 205/50-17 run-flats on the 135, but I wonder if run-flat tires might have an effect on the air pressure required.

I'm also on 205/50-17 winters, but they're not run-flats. I initially had them at 36psi all around, but will try out 33/36 soon.

I'm running my new Sottozeros, in the same sizes, at 38 front, 42 rear.

I see you putting 38 in the front, but why are you running 42 in the rear?

Per the recommendation in the manual ...for speeds potentially exceeding 100MPH.

How did those Pirelli's work out for you last year? I'm looking at ordering them in the stock 215/245 sizes this year.

I have 32.5 F and 34.5 R in mine seems like a good balance for winter driving. I've already had a few days with snow.
BTW tires are 205/55/16 Winter Sport 3D RFTs

I'm new to them, so can't fully report just yet. I can tell you that they feel great compared to the OEM Dunlop summers. It's been cold enough to know that the winter rubber compound is already likely superior to any summer compounds. Additionally, I can tell you that turn-in is noticeably improved. I'm sure this has to do with the wider tire up front, but potentially the tread/compound too. I'm impressed so far...

In general, what is the theory with tire pressures for winter? How should I go about trying to figure out what works best for winter tires (Blizzak W60's)?
