Anyone have any experience adding a blue tooth system to your car?
Wanted to know what my best option is to install a Blue Tooth hands free system in my car. I have heard that taking it to BMW is really expensive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've never put an aftermarket unit in a BMW, but I have used the Argos modual in an older Mercedes. It worked flawlessly with my factory radio. In some ways it worked better than the factory unit in my 2008 MB.

I installed a parrot bluetooth kit with a connects2 adapter I had to order from the UK in my E46. It works well, and I used a diy that was avaliable on bimmerfest by a poster named delmarco. There may be appropriate adaptors avaliable for the e82 as well.

If you want a simple one without any installation look at the different visor mounted options. Most will go several weeks without need of a charge. It's nearly invisible and you don't clutter your dash with stick on displays, microphones, etc.
These models work well: Motorola TZ700 Visor Bluetooth Car Kit http://www.myblueant.com/products/speakerphones/s4/ (If you use an Android phone the Blue Ant S4 is cool because it has apps that give it some features to make the visor kit even better) By the way, I own some mobile phone stores and installed h/f kits for years. These visor mounted kits sell very well with very few problems/returns.
