After some work, and some logging.... things are looking up.
Well, spent a couple hours installing the new ER Charge pipe (pain in the ass), and then had a buddy help me (computer genius) in upgrading my JB4 to the ISO.
After some data logging, did quite a few logs and passes on the no speed limited Auto Bahn area towards Leonburg, we have a potentially finished product. We were using "Virtual Dyno" program on my buddies laptop. It was one of the best programs out there, and tons of reviews saying if used correctly, it is actually quite accurate. Well, below is what it posted. Hoping the actual dyno numbers agree. According to the virtual dyno MAP 5, ISO: 386 RWHP, and 445 TQ Not horrible, just hoping for the same on the dyno in a couple weeks.

You know it! Going to schedule a date with Wrap World to have my trim wrapped, and dyno the same day. Wanna join?

Is yours an N55? I'm having a slight issue with my JB4 but haven't been able to do any logging yet to get "proof" for my butt-dyno...

Yessir, N55.
What sort of issues are you having? Terry has been walking me through my ISO board, he is even setting up a special map for so we can do some testing. If there are issues, just do a log, and send it his way. And butt-dyno?

Lag is the problem. Boost starts to build a little, them drops off, then hits hard.
It feels like my WRX did after a turbo swap and "tune." In that case it was the tune. After getting a different tuner the car ran GREAT, still is actually. I'm not sure I can get a good log with my winter tires so I haven't tried yet. I'm just searching for easy answers. ;-)

I'm on winter tires.... they don't effect the logs from what I see.
I know what you are talking about though. You need to do the upgrade to the ISO board, it is a much more consistent reading. What map do you run right now?

The car was definitely fast as s**t. Glad I could help out. It gets me ready for mine once I get to the states. I can't wait to mess around with map 6 on my own car.
If terry sends you some tweaks we can throw those in real quick at any time. Now that we've done it, it's super easy. |

Terry mailed back, said logs look really good, no more tweaking. He did say, unless the up the octane, he would run Map 2. Said the fuel trims are more steady than they were on Map 5. I told him about the 102 or E85, then he said, if I can up the octane, then run Map 5 for sure. I have an appointment on January 5th at Speed Concept for a Dyno, and some Vinyl wrap work to be done if anyone wants to go dyno.

I did notice your timing is a lot smoother with more advance in map 2. I think if we would have ran a better 3rd gear pull on map 2 it would have made more than 426tq, but damn its hard to do here!
I also noticed your trims were better in map5 and your AFR was also a tad richer(safer in my eyes). |

I'm running map 5 after reading up on their forums and the update to use map 5 with N55s. The car ran much better with 5 than on map 2 but maybe I should switch back?
The car breaks traction so quickly with the snow tires on that the stability control kicks on immediately, that's why I was afraid that I wouldn't get good logs right now. I wish I was closer to Stuttgart so I could get some experienced eyes to take a look...

See, I thought the car felt better on 5 too, and even on the logs, I was hitting 16-17 PSI on 5 compared to 14.5 on Map 2. But Terry is the guy to ask, and when I did, he told me flat out, run Map 2 if you're not running higher octane. If you are running an 85 or 102 mix, then it is ok to run Map 5, other than that, stay on 2. What kind of tires are you running for Winter tires? There should be no reason at all you are breaking traction that easy. I was at 350rwhp before upgrading to ISO and adding the charge pipe (which I think has helped with boost leak). I never break traction unless I'm starting from a dig, or on a strong corner. You should never log on anything lower than 3rd gear anyways, so basically... if you're breaking traction in 3rd gear, it's cause you have shitty un safe tires IMHO If you make it down to Stuttgart, Sw4y1313 is the guy to talk to.

I am curious to see how much different the logs are on 102oct. Your timing would be better thats for sure, which would make more power. But other than that, your trims should be close to the same.
Why you gotta be whoring me out like that? =) |

Once the holidays are over I have to get serious about the tune.
Thanks for the advice, I'll keep quiet until I can hold up my end. And I'll switch maps tomorrow!

If you need any help with setting up your computer to work with the JB4 software, or any other help with logging, configuring, or whatever jb4/computer related shoot me a message. I can also walk you through the ISO mod, or do it for you. It took me about 2 minutes once i found my micro-flat head screw drivers. I can also do remote desktop stuff to walk you threw the features of the various software we used on That_1_Guy's car to get dyno numbers or map comparisons.

Time to really step up my game before the N55 guys catch up to me.
David, If you keep it up, you might be the first N55 over 400WHP. I honestly haven't heard heard of any N55 over 400.

You could do it with just a jb4, downpipes, intercooler, and 20-30% E85. You could even do it without an intercooler, just don't do multiple pulls without time to cool down the baby intercooler.
