128i auto transmission just doesn't feel as smooth

Hi all, for all those that have a steptronic 128i, do you guys/gals feel that the smoothness of the transmission is lacking a bit compared to the 135i??? I know that the ones we got is from GM but god, the feeling is almost night and day. Is there any mod we can get to make it better?

Yeah you should probably try this, although you prolly have to reset it every time you drive or come to a full stop (?). Should have gotten a manual :P

Your car is rejecting the transmission. It really wanted to be a manual 128

I was gonna get a manual but since my momz uses the car in the weekdays, I decided to go steptronic since she can't drive stick. Being a caring son sucks sometimes lol!

BMS Powerbox, been thinking of getting it but the hp/torque gain is so little........ Driving feel any better???

With BMW you get more throttle response, car feels more alive and fun. It revs faster. HP gains are not significant to notice. For the money it's not a bad mode in my opinion.
However BMS doesn't improve the jerkiness, if any-thing it makes it a little worse. I am using manual mode frequently.

Shout outs to all the 128i manual transmission drivers!

Garduna, by any chance have you tried driving with the DTC on or traction control completely off? And then trying the same in sport mode? Just curious if that makes a difference.

Yeah the auto transmission on the 128i feels jerky as hell, it's hard to maintain a constant following speed behind cars. Very annoying.

Whereas the 530i auto transmission is silky smooth.

I love mine...I have had no jerkyness and it is very smooth in D, but I usually drive in sport, but even then it always seems to be in the right gear when it needs to be. When I let someone drive it thier first comment is that they love the transmission.

Tried for 2 days now with DTC. There's definitely an improvement Tho with the rain pouring yesterday, I doubt it is a good idea. My baby slid a bit due to the wetness on the road. No dmg tho!!!

Geeze, I think someone needs some wet skidpad training
J/K

Look take my advice, when the weather is good drive the car with all the nannies off. Its smoother, power delivery is better, and its WAY more fun. Just if your driving style lends you to drive more "spirited" make sure you learn your cars (and the driver's) limits and you'll be fine. But even DTC is much better than DSC and still fairly safe.
