Haven't driven her much yet, will get her out on the highway tomorrow on the way to work, but so far she's got plenty of pep and handles like a dream.

Looks great, and you kept the options under control too. A great bang for the buck vehicle that drives like much more!

Thanks... turns out i couldn't wait until the morning, so i took it for a quick drive. hits 100 no problem, and is so smooth. the 6MT feels great, much better than the auto i test drove.

that's one thing i've been struggling with over the past 6 weeks since i orded was 'should i have gotten the 135'. but honestly, i think the 135i has more power than i really need. i had an '05 3.0i X5, so here i'm driving a car with the same power but 60% of the weight. and i received enough speeding tickets with the X5.
another thing is i'm looking to buy a house this summer, so paying a couple hundred less a month means i can get that much of a nicer house.

Probably a stupid question but how do you get adjustable side bolsters with the manual seats? Sports package maybe?

JT - and others with 128 MT's: There have been a few comments by MT owners that the 1st-2nd shift is historically a sticky, less-than-smooth affair across most BMW models. What is your experience with your 128 MT? A smooth up-shift each time...or do you find you have to work the rpm/shift combo just right for a smooth transition?

i haven't driven it too much (like 30mi so far), but 1st to 2nd is a bit rough, but i think that's partly due to me not getting the revs up high enough in 1st before shifting. i had the same thing in my GLI where it was a much smoother transition if you reved high in 1st before going to second. i had a couple starts in the 128i where i went up to around 5000rpm and it was def smoother.
i'll try to pay more attention to it over the next coming days and let you know. if i see an issue, i'll prolly do the CDV mod since i hear that helps the problem.

I like your option list. Looks like you got the important ones and kept the price down. Nice.

You could always put a "Real Doll" in the passenger seat.
