shadow emblems
New to this forum and still waiting for mine to come. I am very excited.
I was wondering what you all thought about shadow emblems. Also, how difficult is it to take the stock emblems off? Any tips? |

IMO, shadow emblems look good on dark cars, but debadging looks better. Taking the badges off is easy, use fishing line and a solvent (betaclean, goofoff, etc). Then a claybar for the small stuff.

I like the shadow emblem look, if you get them there's 2 finishes to choose from, matte and glossy. its not hard at all to install them, I made a DIY in the DIY section check it out.

I was thinking about them, but I realized it doesn't make sense when my car is black to begin with, so I just debadged haha. I think someone else on here used pieces of tape to mark the top and bottom lines of where the original emblems are (possibly more to judge the width, I don't remember) and just didn't use a hair drier in the process of removing the old numbers. Or follow BSM 135i's DIY using heat resistant tape ;]

I have them on my car too. To my surprise, they have with stood some serious abuse and still have yet to loose their adhesion and have not faded at all.

just make sure you clean the area around them before you rub fishing line on your paint, or you'll end up with a bunch of scratches, just like me.

Just installed shadow emblems on my AW 135...
This really gives the rear end a nice complete look. Maybe its just me but the chrome emblems always look so out of place on an AW car, these just match the defuser so well. Also note car is currently wingless. Only until tomorrow CF Spoiler going on, its gonna look badass!!
