+1 ... people keep assuming 135i + mods = 1M ... after owning both (135i with mods) I can assure anyone the difference is night and day!

I got a lot of respect for evo and chris reviews... but please stop all those non-sense serious check-list reviews.

What I want to see is entertainment, fun and exoticism... so please put the 1M in the hands of the pro-freak from Best Motoring. At least they aren't afraid to put 1m$ of cars in a close race.

And I want to hear those funny Japanese noises "uah ohhh wow aya aiie aiie yataa"

Wow, apparently multiple users on this forum have driven all of these cars extensively enough to formulate a more credible opinion than the EVO editors themselves.

Interesting.

The chunky 1M finishes a strong third, having claimed the top score of one of our testers. We're fans of the regular, top hat-shaped 1 series Coupe, and the 1M cements that appeal with Gorgeous flared arches and a raft of scaled-down M Division cues, including quad tailpipes. The best thing, however, is that it drives like a proper M-car. Indeed, its turbocharged straight six gives it more accessible performance more of the time than the current V8-ingined M3.
'The antithesis of so many other cars here because it has no paddle-shift, no louder exhaust option, no settings menu. You get in, you drive it,'said Porter. 'It's not the last word in sophistication but it's just so bloody loveable.' There is a degree of vertical chop to the ride but you feel in charge, encouraged to push, and when you do it's classic rear-drive entertainment. 'A bubbling keg of driving fun: best BMW in yonks' said Harris. More tellingly, Catchpole (who ranked it first), Meaden and Harris all said it's a car they'd love to own.
