Not sure if it's just the angle that makes it look like that, or just any dark color. Here's a similar shot of mine, though the sun is washing out the back a bit. Why do people hate the looks and backs of our cars so much? Heck, I'm coming back and throwing in a similar pic of my old 135i - Eva the Misbehava as she was titanium silver.

She looks beautiful and not a day over 0. =P You get her something nice for her first birthday?

<fights back tears> They grow up so fast! My Isabelle turns 5 months old tomorrow.

Elwood, were you the first forum member to get their IS? If they came out in August/September, wondering who has had theirs the longest on here.

Early, but most definitely not first.

Huge "Mod" Arrived Today!

Since I can't stop buying lil gifts for my beloved Isabelle, to celebrate her 5 month birthday tomorrow and to make me feel better about the floormat issue, here's my next major mod that arrived today via freight. Can't wait to install!

Wonder how long before they get stolen.

I was going to get the ones with the roundels on them but also thought "hmmm, I'll give these a week before they are stolen"

EDIT: Hmm, ///M caps or Roundel caps?

Ya, I looked at them all and the roundels seem too pretentious for me and too blue. I wanted something subtle and I think different color-combo cars are better suited for some than others. I think for you, the BMW Performance ones would look great, especially on a black car. They're just the reverse of the ones I got - black background and grey or white writing, hard to tell. The M ones bother me cause there are already so many M's on the car (rims, door sills, steering wheel, manual gearshift, etc) and it's not really an M car. Since my car is grey with black interior, the grey and black BMW ones looked best for my color scheme.

I'd tell you get these or the M ones since yours is black on black. After opening mine from the packaging, they're actually quite stunning and look metallic but are plastic as necessary for our cars with the TPMS (can't use metal caps). Hard to tell from the pics, but they're like a clear plastic dome/bubble and the BMW is written INSIDE at the base of it as opposed to writing on the top of it if that makes any sense. And when you see what comes stock on the cars, they're ugly cheapo looking.

Any update on your car?

Nothing yet, last I heard was sometime between Sunday and Thursday. I expect a more precise update this weekend.

New OEM BMW Performance Brake Kit

Picked up my car. I couldn't be happier with the results. I replaced the calipers with the yellow ones (obviously) and replaced all 4 rotors. The front rotors are slotted/drilled and the rears are slotted/dimpled. All came from my local BMW dealer.

On a side note, I want to give a shout out to Michael and the crew at The Import Mechanics. These guys are awesome and I highly recommend them if you're in the metro Denver area. They really hooked me up w/ the install and it turned out perfectly.

Wow, looks great Owen, though I'm concerned you get your hair did at that salon a bit too often. Ha! Curious what you think of them so far in your limited time with them on.

Also, I've never really looked into the upgraded rotors or performance calipers, and while I don't want to ask how much you spent cause I think that's somewhat rude, I'm wondering just ballpark around what it costs in parts and labor in case any of us want to go that route after hearing what you think of them of course as you spend more time with them.

Not sure if any of the IS people on here have them.

What's the benefit of the performance caliper? They're both 6 pot calipers...

Greg, those are way too nice to put on a car. I think you should enclose them in a glass case with a padlock and display them on your coffee table or dining room table.

Pff, the ones I got for MY car I think look better. Maybe I'll get a second set of them though and put one set on the car and turn the other set into giant studded earrings. Then change my license plate to IMA JERK.

I'll let you know if I actually like the new caps as those black BMW performance ones would look lovely on your car.

FWIW, here are a couple of pics of my floormats and blue stitching (build date 2/1/2013). Looks like I have the brighter blue also. I didn't look that closely at the extra set of floor mats I ordered (and they are now in transit somewhere between Florida and Hawaii so I can't look at them now), but I think they are the darker blue and therefore don't match my original ones.

Oh yea I am in Honolulu now, my 135is is currently in Torrance CA and slated to sail on October 5. If it makes that ship I should see it here October 11-18, according to the transport company. Here was my last glimpse of it a couple of weeks ago:

LOL. The salon is in the first floor of my building. That's the easiest place to pull up and snap a few good pix before I pull into the garage.

The OEM BMW brake kit that I installed is basically the same as what came on my car. So it's a pricey mod, unfortunately. The calipers are the same, just a different color. But the front/rear rotors are an upgrade - they're lighter and the drilled rotors will remain cooler (although the benefits of the different rotor styles are debated all over the internet).

The OEM performance brake kit (34-11-0-444-766) runs $2,800, but I applied a 20% off BMW parts coupon (that I received from my local dealer) that saved me several hundred dollars. The install took most of the day and cost about $550. So you're looking at about $3,000 when it's all said and done.

I'm going to sell the performance kit that came off my IS in order to offset the cost and bring my total out-of-pocket costs to below 2 grand. That was my goal.
