need help buying new 135i convertible

Buying new 135i-what a great car. Want an auto titan silver convertible. Brand new to take advantage of government bonuses for small business.
Want a few extras---sat nav professional , ?adaptive lights, front and back parking assistance.

I have been offered 93000 drive away from Melbourne Bmw dealer. is this good deal?

I have been offered approx 14-16,000 For trade in of my beloved 2001 crystal blue MX5 (soft top) by BMW (has only done 48,500 kms). In great condition. Is this good deal?

Any help will be great

Have meeting next saturday --4th July 09-to discuss further with car dealer in Melbourne--most likely with use BMW finance--Chattel Mortgage (approx 50,000 finance).

Cheers for help

Oscar,

Adaptive headlight is very useful and I see it as a safety item. Sat nav professional will give you iDrive and if you love your iPod you will love it. The stock audio or upgrade is a personal thing am I am sure there is a demo there (I have driven it) with the best sound system installed and you can be the judge.

In terms of price, it is very hard to assess since you have a trade in. The discount is calculated in your trade in. It sounds reasonable but the BMW configurator is gone so I can't really judge.

BMW finance is very good. I did shop around though and as a typical Asian I talking down to cents with the brokers and BMW finance.... at the end I saved about $50 per month... only

I am sure you will be happy for your choice no matter what. I cannot speak highly of BMW Melbourne (David you see this? I want my check in the mail...).

Go and order it and join the 1 addiction.

The only disappointment you may have is to wait for it to come like me - 5 months.

Garage List
Do your research and pay what you can afford to pay if it gets you what you want.

Suck up the wait.

Drive away with a big grin and don't turn the TCS off unless you know what you're doing. Then think about it once more before you do it!

i would shop interstate. up here in qld we've always had plenty of 135i's converts in stock but the coupes are hard to come by and usually require a deposit and order. maybe you can find something interstate and push for a deal.

I love the professional nav, it is just like an ipod. Adaptive headlights is a great feature, which I have just written up in another thread recently. Hi Fi - is a good upgrade - I haven't really tried to compare with the standard speakers on the 125i yet, but it is very good compare to the old Harmon Kardon upgrade in the E46. Bass is good, sound is balanced, the only thing at the moment is I don't seem to be able to adjust it to the high frequency I want - but it probably just need a bit of playing around. It is a $2k upgrade but, you won't get the same integration with aftermarket

Comfort access would be one to consider - it works well, and I am not sure how I can live without it now. I get confuse everytime I have to search for the keys for the 120d which we still got. ($1100 upgrade)

I would say heat seating would be a good feature if you are looking at a vert, and I believe the M pack is not standard on the vert either?

Comfort access = keyless entry and engine start.

That means you can just carry the key in the pocket and touch the handle to open and close door and press the button to start the engine.

Also with Comfort Access on the vert, you are able to close and open the roof from the remote control without entering the car and using the fixed controls.

A definite must IMO for the vert...You never know when you might have to close the roof in a hurry.

Your 135i option list is virtually identical to mine! Regarding the seat heating...I used to poo-poo the idea but it came std in my new E90 M3 and I have found it bloody awesome on these cold mornings. Just need built in seat back massagers and I'd be set for life!

My tip - go for the heated seats!

great tips guys. will try few other melbourne bmw dealers this week. pity they dont open on a Sunday!

what is voice recognition?

So at moment, after all advice---will seek for new 135 i titan silver. with the following options--auto, front/back park assistance, adaptive lights, sat/nav professional package, comfort access system (and maybe hifi system professional--if it sounds a great deal difference)

Hope I can get it < 93,000 on road.

and also hope to get mx 5 traded at 16000

is this possible--the on road cost at 93000--or am i dreaming?
cheers

It's a set of verbal commands that your iDrive will recognise to perform certain functions. For example, you say "perspective" and the display will change to the sat nav perspective view.

Fortunately it doesn't respond to "F#*K ME!!" when you bury your foot on the go-pedal and your head snaps back against the head restraint!

Incidently, your spec looks very similar to mine. Regrettably I'll be moving mine soon as the M3 has taken it's place in the garage.

BTW - go for the HiFi Prof if you can...it's awesome. Makes my wife's X5 system sound like a couple of rats scuttling around in an empty tin can.

Honestly I would wait until mid to late August before buying a 135i vert. Thats what I did last year and I ended up grabbing my vert while it was on the boat over to the states. Doing that I saved about 7K American, thats about 9K AUS.

Ohh and I got all of the options that I wanted.

I have the upgraded stereo and I find it pretty good. It sounds horrible from outside the car if its cranked up so don't try to use it when you wash the car. Inside though its very sharp and quite bassy. If you like to listen to music when you drive then get it.

I also got the comfort access and rate it highly for the price. Great convenient feature. I also have the seat heaters and love them in winter.

saw a guy at a bmw dealer today--not very nice salesman, Really not keen o knock prices down or quote good trade in. Always stating he works for a business. Understood mate-i responded. But im not desperate to buy.

I got a quote for 97,000 for --135i---auto, titan silver, front/back park assist, sa/nav professional, comfort package, hifi system professional---as there is no similar 135i in oz, it has to be custom built--approx arrival mid october 09.

i tried to knock back the price to 95,00. would budge . not even to 96000!

then did trade in assessment of my 2001 crystal blue mx5 (in execellent condition)--with 48500 km on oddometer.....and gave me a slap n face price of 12,000.

I walked away.

any ideas of whats possible with numbers would be helpful.

He (bmw rep) told me they only made small margin on built car compared to floor stock.....i was not convinced.
