We tested the car today.

It went ok. A teaser for now I have to plow trough 15 hours of tape to find the best scenes and put them together.

I always love some good sideways action. Car looks to perform well, race alignment or drift alignment? haha

Probably went for the S54 because there has been a TON more development done for it than the S65.

i mean on a driveability/performance perspective

would have a bit more low end with the bigger V8, similar top end (but wider)... AND it weighs something like 30-40lb lighter than the S54 ironically.

It's not that kind of V8...

It certainly is lighter, but you can't ignore that the S54 is at the peak of its aftermarket development. S65 is just getting going.

Hell, here is a S54 with mild tune/exhaust vs a stock S65:

what do you mean?... it has 800cc more capacity and a few hundred RPM more revving (without springs etc. for the S54)

yeah i'm not debating that... but mild tune + exhaust + intake on the S65 and it rips shreds through same mods on the S54...

why are you comparing it to a stock, absolutely useless comparison...?.. heck, that S54 making 320whp N/A? mild tune? hahahah ha. that's near as much as they'll make without opening them up or forcing air in... that's 50whp or more gained.

the fact that you agree the S65 is 'just getting going' means you agree, that since it's already comparable with the S54 in anything but the upper upper extremes (though sticky's crazy build should fix that soon haha), it's a smarter choice for now AND the future...

What I linked of the S54 was an Evolve tune with Supersprint exhaust and a panel filter, nothing more. No CSL intake, no cams, no stroker kit, no engine work. Just simple bolt ons. So no, that's not anywhere near the NA cap for them. There are certainly some good S65 mods, but it still doesn't have the development time that the S54 has. S54 is also a good bit cheaper.

Sticky is a complete retard who should never be mentioned if you are attempting to make a valid argument. That moron has been banned from every BMW forum and had to have his parents buy one for him. His car is a mess and hasn't run for years.

yeah it's not the point? same mods on the S65 will make much closer to 380-400whp.... all through the range more power too (i can post a 390whp dyno i quickly if youd like lol) no cams, no stroker kit (it exists), stock redline, no engine work... simple bolt ons, nowhere near the NA cap for them either

doesn't matter that it doesn't have the same dev time, it has a higher limit, and can already make more power NA.. and can almost make more FI too.

price is irellevant when we're talking about a guy who went and got a brand new bare shell, custom body work and a COMPLETELY built turbo S54 hahaha

i assume you're joking or talking about a different sticky - he's probably one of the smartest BMW owners i've ever spoken to... not to mention THE best forum admin... i think we're talking about a different sticky, he hasn't really been banned from anywhere bar here and thats a personal between forum owners lol.

you realize his car which 'is a mess and hasn't run in years' recently smashed the S65 whp record with slipping clutch packs (so below limiter peak power)
and low boost... right? to the tune of 773whp... pretty good for a car that doesn't run.

we mustn't be lol, since the one i'm talking about bought his own car.
