Tech question on N55 DCT owners

Hi guys

I dont have any after market flash tune or piggy backs
Just the BMW stage1 PPK

I have a question, the other day I decide giving a boot full on the gas,
with DCT on, Manual Mode on and Sport button on, pushing the REV meter up to 7000rpm and it felt like the box was shifting its self like and Auto before I shifted the stick.

The question, Is there some sort of safe mode were the 135i N55 will change gears for you if you hit 7000rpm even when you are in MANUAL MODE?

Has anyone experience this before and confirm my accusation?

Thanks in advance

Yes it will shift at redline. But there's no need to take this car past 6500 because power drips off bad up there. I shift between 6000 and 6500

Yup, when I had my stock N55 (DCT) on a dyno, peak power was at 6300rpm, and it rapidly fell off a cliff after 6700rpm.

Zero point revving beyond 6500rpm.

When I did a track day for the first time, doing some experimentation, I reckon I was making better progress short shifting the DCT on many occasions

Thanks guys, I was just experimenting with the 7000RPM as i know the power drops significantly. For me 5800-6300rpm seems to be best power
