I am skeptical this repair will stand the test of time so I am about ready to have mine replaced. If BMW still made a coupe with a NA engine, hydraulic steering, stick, and without a huge ugly grille I'd buy a newer model but from what I have seen I doubt the interior will hold up any better on the newer models. I miss the E39 days when all we complained about for interior quality was the cup holders.

Would just a regular Hair Dryer work? Or do you need the intensity of a heat gun…..sort of worried it could damage the vinyl top layer?
