Apex ARC-8 wheels for trackdays
Hello everybody,
just a quick question to the guys using Apex ARC-8 on their track cars... are these wheels strong enough to withstand track driving? I ruined and bent a lot of light track wheels by driving on curbs, especially jagged ones, but I would like to avoid to order one replacement wheel from the US every 2/3 trackday Currently I'm using X3 114 style wheels which are indestructible but sooo heavy (about 34 lbs front and 41 lbs rear) and would like to swap to Apex... what should I do? Will they last enough? |

Anecdotally, I've heard around the paddock that Apex wheels are usually good for 2-3 years worth of tracking before they become very susceptible to bending. I was also told that Apex offers discounted replacements if you bend their wheels on track...
That said, I've done ~15 track days, 1.5 years of autocross and hard canyon use on my old 17x8.5 ARC8, and they're still straight and true.

Discounted replacements is a good thing if you are in the States, but too expensive in any case due to shipping costs if you are living outside US I will listen at what my wallet is saying when the next group buy will take place |
