Rebuilt title 1M?

I know each situation is unique but wanted to know thoughts on a particular rebuilt title 1M and price.

I haven’t seen it in person yet but in talking with the dealer it was a front impact that caused the rebuilt title. 30k miles, non-original wheels and headlights also look aftermarket (full clear?).

Black on black, not sure on packages on these but has nav and heated seats.

They are asking $46k. First impression is this seems high, all things considered, but wanted to get thoughts from some more informed folks.

I currently have a CPO 135is which has been an absolute blast but I yearn for that wider body and the //M. Would love any feedback.

a rebuilt for 46k to me is a no, is it the one from prestman on autotrader that your talking about? i'm guessing prices on the 1m's have gone back up as a few months ago there were at least 7 or 8 sitting around 45k to low 50's with 30 to 70k miles (clean titled) and there was a salvaged VO one sitting at 32/35/37?k can't remember exact fig

It is, yes. Yeah, thought I remembered seeing clean title examples close to that range.

agree with it seeming high... however.. for the US # only 740 made.

A rebuilt vehicle in excellent condition can at times fetch values close to an original if the vehicle is very rare.

Personally.. I would look for an original vehicle... however.. likely pricing will be about 10K higher. if you could make out with the rebuilt car for close to 40.. it might be worth purchasing. it could be difficult to sell in the future.. although actually the longer you hold it the less difficult as fewer all original vehicles remain.

Is this the 1M that has a new motor? Or was it in an actual accident?

Wouldn't pay a penny over 30k with nonstandard parts on it and rebuilt title. They're smokin the good stuff if they think it's worth 45.

Regardless of price I?d like to see documentation and photos of the accident and repairs before purchasing. It?s expensive to repair these cars so totaling a car doesn?t necessarily mean it?s like an episode of Graveyard Carz. Maybe offer up a price based on what you are comfortable paying based on previous damage. 45k does seem steep. GL

For reference, a 1M with 30k miles and a replaced door due to accident (with full documentation and seemingly high quality repair) sold for $45k on BaT:

Clear headlights were for the European market and were not available to the North American market.
Therefore, they are not the originals that came with the car, and were installed after.
Sounds like the previous owner decided to go with the European styles after he was involved in the front end collision.

I think that car is worth low to mid 30's max. Do a quick google image search of the VIN, car look to have been in a nasty accident

I wouldn't touch a rebuilt vehicle for that much.
Over 40k for a vehicle that was essentially totaled? They're smoking some good shit.

It is important to see what was done on the car. Not only in documentation but up on a lift with a good pair of eyes. The asking price is too step but as others have mentioned if you hold on to the car through the years the return on investment will be there. Clean titles are of course ideal but if this car was reconstructed properly it could be a good find and worth the money in the future. In ten years from now someone will pay in the 50s for this car with an additional 30k miles on it and in all that time you could have enjoyed it. Start negotiating a price and then leave your number. You might be surprised to get a call back in a few months if the car sits. I would also try to find an owner (not an easy task) and treat him or her for some beers and have them look under the car with you. I realize how hard that is but I have been under my car countless times and I would easily be able to spot non oem parts and poor repairs. Generally speaking though if you have an N54 already you should be just about as good.
