Open the V band and leave it on the turbo housing. I take it that's what is hanging you up? You have to open the clamps quite a ways to get it over the flange on the downpipes

Once you remove the bolts they can be a bit stubborn.
I stuck a small wrench in the vband and pulled down and once that side was free I used the wrench and pushed up.

Thanks everyone! I will hopefully be running stage 2 by the end of the day
I had to move my car so I drove it a little with the midpipes off and it was loud and hilarious to say the least. because racecar Also another question, is there another bolt holding the bottom downpipe in place besides the one on the Vband and the two on the midpipes? In this machtschnell vid, there seems to be a bolt holding up the middle of the downpipe too. |

Some DPs utilize this bracket.
Mine did however it didn't line up properly so I didn't use it and just bent the bracket out of the way to avoid vibrations

Do a search for the AR Design downpipe video on YouTube. That's the one I used and I have no issues. Great video that doesn't skimp on anything! It's for the 335i specifically, but everything under there is pretty much identical to the 135i.
