The Mile Run
Just wanted to share what we did last Saturday, November 10. 3 car clubs rented out an abandoned airport and did a drag racing activity on the airstrip.
We first did a 3/4 mile race then a mile race. My 1M was one of the show stealers in the event. Speedometer was clocking at 260 km/h. I easily beat an E92 M3 and a C63. 1M was just jumping from launch to finish. Unfortunately I wasn't able to beat a heavily tuned 135i, we were head to head though but I guess because of the DCT the 135i turned out to be the winner. Here are some of our pictures: Hey it's also the first time that my car met a brother. |

Nice! Lots of cool cars over there. Did you record some times for 3/4 and mile runs? And is your car stock?

You must have your launch down pat. Was the M3 a manual as well?
Also, what happened with the C63? Did the guy just lay down all of his rear tire rubber at the start line? I was actually behind one the other day while there was a small drizzle in moderate traffic on a surface road. The guy was driving like a complete asshat spinning his wheels and sliding every time we moved. It seemed only a matter of time before he either spun the car or slid into something or someone. Needless to say, I gave him a lot of space and took the first alternate route I could. They do sound good though.

+1. Just doesn't make any sense except driver difference (Mercedes guy was sleeping maybe!) or something got wrong with the C63. That is a serious straight line weapon, 0-60 should be easily sub 4 sec. and the longer the distance the more the difference.

You got any videos? Those are great results! Beating a e92 M3 let alone the C63, you sure your 1M is stock?! Haha.
Also, standing start race or rolling start? |

We were all doing a rolling start at around 20 km/h just so the clutch won't be strained. C63 was driven by my brother and sure it was one hell of a battle. We ran it twice and the results were just the same. 1M was just a torque freak launching 1 or 2 cars ahead after the launch. The M3 had a DCT, after our run we switched cars and still the 1M won by a big margin. I guess since we all started rolling at 20 km/h then it turned out to be an advantage in my end.
