That still cost as much as AA's header and tune combination. I like SS's equal length tubes and hand made construction, and it's not as steep as it was before. BUt still - that's expensive!

Not sure if anyone else saw but AA has a black friday/cyber monday sale on most of their tunes including the 128i tune. It's $391 instead of $459.00 so you save $68 which isn't bad. The G5 programming tool is still full price ($350) unfortunately. But seeing the kind of gains in the dyno by chrisar82 and some other N51 people with just a tune + stock 3 stage manifold, I'm tempted.

The SS tuned resonator looks sick. I bet that adds a few decibels of sound.

That is a pretty awesome price. I'll have to remember to time my swap to their catted mids during Black Friday.

Giving away my injen intake for the cost of shipping, or come pick it up for free from me on LI.

Has about 35k miles, heat shield is rusting. Everything else is in great condition. a bit dusty, filter could be cleaned but i cleaned i 5k miles ago with compressed air.

Clearing out the garage and making space for the winter.

What intake did you swap the injen intake for?

More torque in the low end, a tad more power throughout the range. It's very subtle and perhaps it isn't anything at all

with a proper setup it does add slightly more torque and power BUT you need to have the right thermal insulation for it to work.

It's a completely different engine from a completely different manufacturer. 100% apples and oranges. Even within a single brand you can't compare like that.

It is an NA engine getting gains from just an intake solution. It most definitely proves there are gains to get from proper intake placement and tech. To be saying "100% apples and oranges" would be a great exaggeration.

Yes there are differences but your statement on this being completely irrelevant just does not make sense.

Good luck getting 50-60hp from headers like the E60 M5 then.

+1

you can't talk common sense into a stubborn head...

it's silly to deny any gains from an intake.
